Help your pets get care if something happens to you

When you leave home, your pets expect you to come back. But an accident, sudden illness or unexpected trip to hospital could leave you unable to return home or contact someone to care for them.

The people helping you may not know you have pets waiting at home. And even if your friends hear that something has happened, they may not realise your pets are alone and need food, water, medication or someone to check on them.

The WagTag Emergency Keyring helps connect the person assisting you with your friends in WagTag, so your pets’ needs can be brought to their attention.

How the WagTag Emergency Keyring works

Carry the keyring with your keys. Once it is set up, its QR code gives someone assisting you a way to notify your WagTag friends that your pets may need care.

If you’re involved in an accident or become unwell, a first responder or another person helping you can scan the QR code and enter their phone number and a message.

When they submit the form, an alert is sent to the friends you have connected with in the WagTag app. Your friends can then contact the person who raised the alert and arrange care for your pets.

Those friends might be family members, a trusted neighbour or someone who already helps look after your animals. Connecting with them in WagTag gives them a way to be notified when you cannot contact them yourself.
